In this video, we explore the nightlife of Kadıköy, one of Istanbul's liveliest districts, located on the Asian side of the city. With its traditional Turkish meyhanes (taverns), live music venues, theaters, pubs and bars, Kadıköy is one of Istanbul's most popular meeting places and a favorite destination for nightlife.
Our walk begins in the early evening at Kadıköy Pier and continues toward the bustling bazaar area. Along the way, we pass by crowded cafes, restaurants, and local shops that are packed with people all day long. We then wander through the vibrant streets lined with traditional Turkish meyhanes and bars, experiencing the unique atmosphere of Kadıköy's nightlife.
When we reach Moda Avenue, an unexpected surprise awaits us. We come across a live performance by the well-known DJ duo Arem & Arman. The event quickly turns into a large street party, where hundreds of people gather to enjoy the music and the lively atmosphere. After a while, however, the police bring the event to an end following complaints from nearby residents.
Later, we visit Kadife Street, Kadıköy's best-known bar street, before exploring other popular nightlife spots such as Osmancık Street and the colorful Umbrella Street, known for its distinctive decorations and vibrant atmosphere.
