In this walk, we are in Budapest, often referred to as the Pearl of the Danube. We begin on the streets behind the Opera House and walk toward St. Stephen's Basilica.
Our first stop is the Hungarian State Opera House (Magyar Állami Operaház), designed by Miklós Ybl, one of the most important figures in Hungarian architecture, and renowned for its Neo-Renaissance style. Opened in 1884, this building holds a special place in the city not only for its architecture but also as one of the symbols of more than three centuries of Hungarian opera tradition.
After the Opera House, we continue toward St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent István Bazilika), accompanied by the everyday rhythm of the city. One of Hungary's most important religious buildings, this magnificent basilica is named after in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary (I. István), and holds a distinctive place in the city's skyline with both its architecture and its scale.
As always, there's no narration and no guidance. Just footsteps, ambient sounds and flow. For the best experience, I recommend watching with headphones.
Join the flow and walk with me through the streets of Budapest.
